Our Mission
SAW regards physical activity and sport as a universal language, a vehicle for connection, inclusion and cohesion between individuals, companies and communities.
Our Vision
Faced with the growing challenges of employer attractiveness, sustainable performance and social cohesion, SAW carries a strong ambition: to durably establish physical activity, movement, sport and wellbeing as essential strategic levers for the development of the Swiss professional world.
SAW envisions an economic environment in which companies naturally integrate an active, responsible and inclusive culture at the heart of how they operate. It promotes a transformation of organisational models towards more solidarity-based and higher-performing environments, where human vitality and social innovation become drivers of lasting competitiveness.
Convinced that physical activity is a powerful vehicle for organisational and societal transformation, SAW contributes to the harmonious development of individuals, communities and the economy as a whole.
The mission of SAW
SAW's mission is to support, bring together and champion Swiss companies, institutions and public bodies that wish to place physical activity and wellbeing at the heart of their strategy.
To this end, SAW commits to:
- Promote movement and physical activity as major levers for wellbeing and lasting impact;
- Strengthen personal fulfilment and quality of life within professional environments;
- Bring together a network of committed players for an active, supportive and socially responsible Switzerland;
- Champion and support companies that integrate physical activity and wellbeing into their organisational practices;
- Highlight and share existing actions and best practices within Swiss companies;
- Encourage cooperation between the public, private and non-profit sectors to create active and inclusive work environments;
- Align with international reference frameworks, notably the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the WHO Global Action Plan on Physical Activity and the UNESCO international charter for physical education, physical activity and sport;
- Champion companies' commitment to their employees through physical activity and sport as a concrete expression of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR);
- Open access to European and international networks of companies and partners.
Our key messages are built around strong convictions
Promote a sport that goes beyond mere performance logic, in the service of movement, balance and lasting wellbeing.
Guarantee authentic inclusivity, by all and for all, with respect for diversity.
Recognise the company as a central and responsible actor in sustainable development.
Make physical activity a strategic lever that concretely contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
SAW : Its Mission (statutory mandate)
SAW's mission notably includes developing, organising, running, coordinating, evaluating and controlling, within the limits of its remit, the practice of physical or sporting activities and mobility in their various aspects (notably competitions, leisure, education, social relations, tourism interests, training, organising events, conferences, etc.) and to inform and train the various stakeholders.
